ABOUT
OUR CEO
Mr. Sperduto brings over 30 years of management and entrepreneurial leadership experience growing companies in the solid waste management and recycling industry, including completing over 50 acquisitions. His experience has centered in the U.S. northeast where he has played key roles in building entrepreneurial waste management companies and has served in regional executive management positions. Mr. Sperduto worked at Waste Management Inc. for nearly 10 years where he led Waste Management’s marketing efforts for Northern New Jersey, Connecticut and New England.
In 2006 Mr. Sperduto founded Waste Haulers, a solid waste management collection and transfer station operator in Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts. Waste Haulers rapidly grew both organically and via acquisition and was well known regionally for its exceptional customer service. By the time of its sale, Waste Haulers was comprised of 50 collection routes and 3 solid waste management transfer stations. In 2015 Mr. Sperduto successfully completed the sale of Waste Haulers to Waste Management Inc.
In 2018 Mr. Sperduto re-entered the solid waste management industry with the acquisition of Jet‐A‐Way, a company with over 50 years of history serving the Boston market. Mr. Sperduto has leveraged this initial acquisition to build out a strong regional, independent waste management business called Star Waste Systems and has subsequently acquired six other companies and is developing the North Andover Waste Systems C&D MRF/Transfer Station. Star Waste Systems currently operates over 50 collection vehicles and is focused on serving the greater Boston area.
